Experience

Teaching Assistant, SAVS; Lexington, KY; August 2023-Present Kiana is working as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Kentucky at SAVS, teaching Foundations level classes (3D & 2D). She works as the instructor of record for 2D&3D foundations where she teaches students the fundamentals and basics of art principles. She strives to give students the freedom to explore ideas and mediums, while also guiding them to develop their interests in art.

CFA Intern; Lexington, KY; May 2024-August 2025 Kiana worked as an intern with the College of Fine Arts at the University of Kentucky. She worked throughout all the Fine Arts College’s maintaining the equipment, studios, and facilities. The main focus was the upkeep of the SAVS studios.

ALT for the Tahara BOE; 2018-2023 Kiana worked as a full time English teacher for Elementary and Junior High Schools. She worked closely with the Japanese-English teachers to prepare lessons and teach classes. Class sizes ranged from 10-39 students.

Artist, Cömpany; Toyokawa, Japan December 2022-2024 Kiana sells ceramic works in the tattoo studio.

Ceramics Instructor, KY Mudworks; Lexington, KY June 2017- August 2018 Kiana worked as the primary teacher for first time students. Class sizes ranged from 5-12 people. She taught the basics of wheel throwing for night classes and helped long term students enhance their wheel throwing and learning new techniques. 

Gallery Attendant, Georgetown College Art Galleries; Georgetown, KY August 2014-May 2018 Kiana worked closely with the curator to maintain the upkeep of the gallery space, working the help desk to answer questions about current exhibitions, and re-cataloged works in the collection. 

Intern, Georgetown College Art Galleries; Georgetown, KY January 2015-May 2015 Kiana worked closely with the curator to prepare exhibitions, worked with numerous artists to help curate and display their works.
